New 3D Printer: Markforged Mark Two

We are excited about our new addition to our 3D printing capabilities, a Markforged Mark Two! The equipment will be used to facilitate multiple research activities within the Institute. The Mark Two will benefit our research projects in research themes Human Sensing and Assistive Devices and Intelligent Mobile Systems. The equipment will be indispensable for other Ingenuity Labs researchers and their trainees. The Mark Two is a state-of-the-art 3D printer for reinforced parts. Using Fused Filament Fabrication (similar to Fused Deposition Modeling or FDM), it is able to print with two types of plastics (Onyx, Nylon) and three types of fibers (carbon fiber, fiberglass, Kevlar) for reinforcement.
